Before shipment, we perform proper coating of stainless steel 316/316L pipe. The product is available in bundles and singles. We wrap the product with polypropylene sheets to prevent rust during transit.
SS ERW Pipe 316 is a welded stainless steel pipe manufactured using the Electric Resistance Welding process from SS 316 grade austenitic stainless steel. It contains 16-18% chromium, 11-14% nickel and 2-3% molybdenum, offering excellent corrosion resistance especially against chlorides and marine environments.
SS 316L is the low-carbon version of SS 316 (0.035% max carbon vs 0.08% max). The lower carbon content in 316L prevents carbide precipitation during welding, making it the preferred choice for welded applications and heavy-gauge components.
SS ERW Pipe 316 conforms to ASTM A312, ASTM A358, ASME SA312, SA358, ASTM A249, ASTM A269, ASTM A270, and ASTM A554 standards depending on the application requirements.
SS 316 is equivalent to Werkstoff Nr. 1.4401/1.4436, UNS S31600, JIS SUS 316, and EN X5CrNiMo17-12-2. SS 316L is equivalent to 1.4404/1.4435, UNS S31603, JIS SUS 316L, and EN X2CrNiMo17-12-2.
